game rules and version used by games
« on: January 23, 2013, 12:00:30 am »
Can GMS please post the game system and rules version used for their games?  In some instances it's not clear. I know for Hero System difference between V5 and V6 are fairly large.

for other games systems if there are free set or player set of rules like for instance Savage Worlds has a 'Test Drive version' of the rules available.

I'm fairly certain Kyper has posted what system's each game are using on the home page. However just because you asked, Galaxies Edge is a Hero 5 edition game.

You want to know the truth?" The Huntsman says. "I, like the raging storm of wind, rain and lightning, am your worst nightmare." He says smiling showing his large sharp canines. "You have captured me and in doing so risk the Storm Lord's fury and unlike me he is not so forgiving." He says.

besides what is listed in your game is there any other guidelines on what you are looking for the Galaxy's Edge? Like skills required for being a member of NTSF.

any rules on building gadgets?

Is this more star trek or Enterprise or would some other sci fi space opera be more appropriate?

I'm using a slightly modified version of PDQ#
The original rules can be found at atomicsockmonkey.com

Notes about my my version can be found here on GoogleDocs

Under capitalism man exploits man. Under communism it's just the opposite.

To be a member of the NTSF, would require some additional background information that I won't discuss here because of story reasons.

As far as sci-fi space opera goes, that's where it gets a little wonky. I don't have specific source that I pull from. You are likely to notice obvious references to certain tv shows and video games here and there but for the most part I tend to think up adventures on the fly.

Unless it has to do with my overall story arc, which hasn't been reached it. Right now it is about letting the players explore and let some realizations that they are going be far from home and the only support they have is each other and the rest of the crew.
